The application period for the University of the Western Cape (UWC) for the year 2022 is planned to run from April 1 to September 31, 2021. How to Apply for a admission at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in 2022

  • All applicants must apply online; to do so, go to the link.
  • There is no charge for submitting an application.
  • You must successfully complete the online application form as well as submit the relevant papers in order for your application to be considered COMPLETE.
  • Once you’ve finished the online application (within 24-48 hours), you’ll receive an email confirmation letter with instructions on how to submit the relevant documentation (click on the link to submit documents).
  • Applicants can check the status of their application by heading to ‘Application Status’ by clicking.

  • Please note that there is no separate application form for University housing; if you answered YES to the question about University housing, you have already applied. The number of places available in the residence is restricted, and not all applications will be accepted. Only those applicants who have been offered a place to study by the University will be considered, based on placement criteria and space availability (not all applicants who have been made an offer to study can be accommodated). ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A National Senior Certificate (NSC) Bachelors pass – an achievement rating of 4 (sufficient success 50-59 percent) or better in four courses chosen from the authorized 20 credit NSC subjects (known as the specified subject list) – is the minimum admission requirement.

System of UWC Points
UWC uses a weighted approach to calculate points for admission to degree and diploma programs. A minimal number of points must be obtained in order for a candidate to be admitted to degree programs. Determine the number of points required by looking at each program on the reverse side of this brochure. The table below shows how points are assigned.
